Well I just got in from college and sat down to update everyone on general life.
In AS Film today we watched our third documentry film. As part of the exam you can select questions to answer on three case study documentries. We have so far looked at 'Jesus Camp', 'Count Down to Zero' and 'The Bridge'.
'The Bridge' was an incredibly difficult, very emotional documentry to watch. The film maker spent time on the Golden Gate Bridge in America documenting the suicides of 23 out of 24 people who jumped in the year 2004. Several of the jumpers families were interveiwed in the documentry. It was shocking to discover just how common an occurence it was for people to be jumping off and taking their lives on the GGBridge. The issues of lack of mental health support in America and not to mention the only 4ft barrier that keeps the pedestrians and vehicles on the bridge.
After coming home nearly speechless and upset from the footage I was informed of noodles and cheesecake for dinner! Its offical Rocky Road Cheesecake is just amazing!
Now I am back in my bedroom typing this and watching old episodes of Dragonball Z c:

Kevin Hines - Hines stood on the bridge for 40 minutes. No one approached him to ask what was wrong. When a tourist came up and asked whether he could take her photo, Hines said that was the final straw — clear proof that no one cared.
After watching the documentary ‘The Bridge’ I wanted to read further into the life of Kevin Hines one of the few survivors of jumpers of the Golden Gate Bridge.
